Golden Eaglets run over nine-man Congo

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets ran over nine-man Congo 7-0 at the ongoing African Under-17 Championship inside the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Saturday.
Inside the first hour, Nigeria wrapped up the game scoring six - averaging a goal every 10 minutes.
The striking pair of Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho proved a handful for the Congolese with the latter helping himself with a hat-trick.
Iheanacho put Nigeria one goal up on four minutes after smashing home from close range via Musa Yahaya's assist.

The tournament's leading scorer, Success, came close to making it two but the Congo keeper, Mpea Darnet Ombandza blocked his effort.
Just before the half hour mark, Success finished off Bernard Bulbwa's chip to give Nigeria's Golden Eaglets a two-goal lead.

Congo were reduced to 10 men after left-back Ngampio Imouele handled Success' goal-bound effort.
Success stepped up to convert the spot kick as Nigeria raced into a three-goal lead in the 33rd minute.
But Congo's Diables Rouge picked themselves up and nearly got one back when midfielder Julssy Boukama Kaya hit the crossbar from close range.
On 40 minutes, Yobi Sakou was sent off for kicking out at Mustapha Abdullahi with vicious intent leaving Congo with nine men to play for the remain 50 minutes.

Before the break, Iheanacho made it four for Nigeria from a simple tap in after Success did a great job squaring out the ball from the left channel.
In the restart, the Eaglets were 5-0 up within three minutes when Musa Yahaya slipped the ball underneath Ombandza.  On the hour mark, it was 6-0 as Ifeanyi Matthew combined with Iheanacho to score his first of the game. Then Nigeria played keepsake with the ball until Iheanacho completed his hat-trick after benefiting from Ombandza's howler in the 85th minute.

Nigeria finished their group top on six points after Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire played out a goalless draw in Casablanca.
The Golden Eaglets, having qualified for the 2013 Fifa Under-17 Championship, will face Tunisia in the semis in Marrakech on April 24.
