QPR’s Remy Won’t Join Liverpool As Frenchman’s Switch Collapses

Liverpool’s move for Queens Park Rangers’ striker Loic Remy has collapsed, as a result of an undisclosed reason.

The ‘Reds’ are yet to comment on the reasons behind their rethink but it is understood there has been some niggles with the France international’s medical.  Remy, 27, flew to the United States, where Liverpool are presently honouring their pre-season tour, last Monday.
The Merseyside club were believed to have activated the £8.5m release clause in Remy’s contract.
The Frenchman, who was part of the France squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup, waited all through last week for the final confirmation of the deal.




However, Remy is now poised for a return back to Queens Parks Rangers (QPR), who he joined for £8m in January 2013 from French club Marseille. He scored six goals in the second half of the 2012/13 season as the Loftus Road outfit plummeted down the league hierarchy.
He scored 14 goals in 26 Premier League matches on loan at Newcastle last season but struggled for appearances in the closing stages of the campaign with a calf injury.
QPR are back to the top-flight in their first asking following their play-off final win over Derby County in May.
Arsenal have also shown interest in Remy, but the winger will most likely remain with Rangers.
Liverpool have already signed Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Lazr Markovic and Dejan Lovren in the close season.
