Emenike as future Yekini

Players with a nose for putting the ball in the back of the net are hot commodities anywhere in the world of football and Nigeria’s Emmanuel Emenike is one example of such players.
Many Nigerians should be glad that the quick, strong and clinical finisher did not yield to pressures from Turkey to play for the Crescent Stars.
Just one major outing for his country, the 25-year-old has been turning heads and hogging headlines in the media, where he has been compared to the legendary Rashidi Yekini.

Emmanuel Emenike: I’m just lucky!

Emmanuel Emenike was on cloud nine after he helped Nigeria to send hot favourite, Cote d’Ivoire, out of the ongoing Nations Cup in South Africa with a declaration that seems to assure Nigerians of more to come from him. And of course, he did it again in the semi-final match against Mali when he scored the third goal of the match with his bullet shot from a free-kick that found the back of the net after a deflection by a Malian player.

Keshi hopeful about Moses, Emenike

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has played down the injury sustained by strikers Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike during the second half of the semi-final match against Mali in Durban on Wednesday. Moses was withdrawn early in the half for Ahmed Musa and it was thought that he could have sustained a muscle strain which could keep him out of the Sunday final.
Emenike was also stretchered to the sideline after he appeared to have sustained a muscle cramp while attempting to score. But Keshi said he was hopeful that the duo would feature on Sunday.
