Europa League Preview

Chelsea Vs Rubin Kazan
Tottenham Vs Basel
Newcastle Vs Benfica
Fernabache Vs Lazio
Chelsea take on Rubin Kazan in the first leg of the Europa league quater finals at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s manager Rafa Benitez has vowed not to take the Russian side for granted. Rubin Kazan has conceeded just one goal since 2013 and are no push overs.
Chelsea however have some heavy fixture pile up as this match will be their third in six days. Due to this jam packed fixtures, the European champions will look to rotate their squad and avoid fatigue but Chelsea are in high spirits as they overcame rivals Manchester united in the FA cup quater finals after beating them 1-0 on monday. The team will hope to get a good result with the home advantage as they strive to finish the season with a silver ware.

Tottenham is another English club that remains in this competition. Tottenham’s manager Andres Villas Boas is no foreigner in this competition as he guided Fc Porto to Europa league title win in his last season there and will also look to do same with Tottenham. He is equally wary of this Swiss side Basel because of their European experience but he is confident and claims that he has “superior players”. This encounter takes place at white hart lane as Tottenham will look to their Talisman Gareth Bale to bail them out of this one.
Newcastle travels to Benfica for the first leg of the Europa league quarter finals. Despite their woes in the premier league this season which made them loose 4-0 to Machester city last weekend, Alan Pardew is confident that his side can get a positive result in Portugal. Benfica are brimming in confidence now as they have won 20 and drawn 4 of their Portugese league fixtures which put them comfortably on top of their domestic table. This will be a big test for Newcastle as they seek to overcome a very organised and experienced Benfica side at the Estadio da Luz stadium.
Lazio then travels to Turkey to lock horns with Fernabache in the last eight of the Europa league competition. Lazio are unbeaten in 12 Europa league games as they overcame Mongledbach on 5-1 aggregrate in the round of 16. They are favourites to progress ahead of Fernabache.
