I can beat Bolt again says Tyson Gay

Tyson Gay is finally injury-free and says he has “no excuses” for not beating Usain Bolt. The fastest man in the world this year, Gay acknowledged his frustration at dealing with hip, groin and hamstring pain while Bolt piled up world records and gold medals. “It just was maddening for so long,” said the American, who won sprint double gold at the 2007 world championships before Bolt started dominating the following year.

“It’s finally over and done with,” Gay told reporters ahead of his headline appearance in the 100 at the Athletissima Diamond League meeting. “I have no excuses, I have no pain. I feel good. I am over the mental part of being injured,” said the sprinter whose 31st birthday next month falls on the eve of the worlds opening in Moscow. Now Gay wants Bolt, who skipped Athletissima to run a 200 in Paris on Saturday, to arrive in Russia in the same great shape. Double Olympic silver medallist Yohan Blake is the actual world champion at 100 – after Bolt famously false-started in Daegu, South Korea – though the Jamaican No.2 has had a hamstring injury since April.

African champions the Super Eagles of Nigeria as expected beat minnows Tahiti 6-1 in their Confederations Cup opening Group B match on Monday in Belo Horizonte, but they were given a run for their money for a while.
Nnamdi Oduamadi claimed a hat-trick as Nigeria shook off the jet lag to thrash minnows Tahiti 6-1 in their opening Confederations Cup game.
The African champions only arrived in Brazil 36 hours before the game after a row over bonus payments, but they could even afford some wasteful finishing as they leapfrogged world champions Spain to the top of Group B.

Nigeria Vs Tunisia: Nigeria Beat Tunisia to Reach U-17 Final

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria beat Tunisia 4-2 in an entertaining semi-final played in Marrakech on Wednesday . Nigeria will now play Cote d'Ivoire in the final on Saturday while hosts Morocco and Tunisia play for third and fourth place .
The Golden Eaglets stormed out of the blocks as Success Isaac found Kelechi Iheanacho with a square ball barely seconds in and only good reflexies from goalkeeper Ben Chrifia prevented an early goal. But hardly a minute later Iheanacho returned to score from a through ball. Nigerian play was proving to be too much for overwhelmed Tunisia who looked shell-shocked and struggling to live with the Nigerians
