Nigeria bags 1st gold in Commonwealth Games.

Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha has given Nigeria its first gold at the Commonwealth Games which started in Glasgow, Scotland yesterday July 24th.  Chika won the gold medal today after pulling a total of 196 points in snatch and clean and jerk in the 53kg class to beat her competitors from New Guinea & India who picked the silver & bronze medals.

Genevieve Nnaji announces ambitious actor as success of “Act The Part” online contest

 Genevieve Nnaji has announced the winner of the “Act the part” online contest, which kicked off three weeks ago as 18year old aspiring actress, Bola Suru.   Bola, a university admission seeker exhibited undeniable acting skills which shot her to the frontline in the contest amidst thousands of contestants who sent in videos re-enacting a role from a Nollywood movie of their choice.

The young aspiring actress could not contain her joy when she received the news. 

“I have practically been praying about this since I emerged one of the three finalists. My sister actually found out about the competition and encouraged me to be a part of it. I am so excited about this”, says Bola.

“Genevieve inspires me so much and I really can’t wait to meet her and ask all the many questions I need answers to as it concerns acting as a career”, she adds excitedly.
