AFCON 2013: 'Moses Begged Me To Allow Him Play Penalties, I Will Play Spot-Kicks In Future' – Mikel

John Mikel Obi has revealed that he was set to take the two penalty kicks, in the Super Eagles last Group C game against Ethiopia, but his Chelsea team mate Victor Moses, pleaded to allow him take them.  Obi had missed from the spot in the second game against Zambia, but Moses converted the two kicks to give Nigeria a much needed victory.
The midfielder however said he will not run away from taking spot-kicks in future.

AfCON 2013: Globacom Charges Eagles On Group Stage Matches

Second National Operator, Globacom Nigeria Limited, has called on the Super Eagles to make Nigerians happy by putting up a superlative performance during the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. In a press statement issued in Lagos on Monday, Globacom advised the Eagles to tackle every match from the group stage with determination and zeal to win, adding that this will guide them progressively to the final stages of the competition.

Film maker Amaka Igwe's TV station launch set for February 2013

Celebrated film maker, producer and director, Mrs. Amaka Igwe, will join the league of television station (QTV) owners in February, 2013. The Federal Government of Nigeria awarded the MD/CEO of Amaka Igwe Studios, BOBTV, and producer of classic movies such as Checkmate, Fuji House of Commotion, Rattlesnake, Violated, and Glamour Girls, television and radio licenses years back. Well, she's now ready and rearing to go, having kicked off the radio arm (Top FM) years ago. Everything is now set, staffers are counting down, the equipment is here and daily being test-run.

 How will you describe the misunderstanding between Super Eagles coach Steen Keshi and Osaze Odemwingie?
It is distracting, unnecessary and unhealthy for Nigeria. I worked with Keshi many years ago and I know how he feels in situation like this. From his experience in the Togolese national team, I think he should have craftily avoided this situation.

Our Expectations In 2013 By Nollywood Practitioners


Like the previous years, the out-going year, 2012 is a year of the good, the bad and the ugly in Nollywood. A year full of intrigues, heartbreaks and tears, some practitioners got married, sealed endorsement deals, won awards, premiered hit movies  and welcomed new babies  among other good things. But above all, the industry lost some of its veteran actors to the cold hands of death.
