Victor Moses to sign from Chelsea on season-long loan

Liverpool will complete the formalities of a season-long loan deal for Chelsea's Victor Moses before the transfer window closes. The 23-year-old has slipped even further down the pecking order at the Blues after the summer signings of Willian and Andre Schurrle.

Liverpool will pay the Stamford Bridge club a loan fee, understood to be around £1m, as part of the deal for the former Crystal Palace and Wigan attacker. Moses, who was at Anfield watching Liverpool play Manchester United on Sunday, signed for Chelsea from Wigan for a fee reported to be around £9m in August 2012.

Nigerian Idol 3 finale; Femi Kuti, D'Banj, Omawumi, all hail Moses

Moses Obi-Adigwe has become the first male contestant to emerge winner of the third season of Nigeria's most-viewed TV reality show, the Nigerian Idol! The 22-year-old could not contain his joy as he stuttered over and over again, "This is a new beginning in my career and life... you don't understand!"

Like in previous seasons, Etisalat Nigeria delivered, as promised, a brand new SUV and a 7.5-million-naira cheque to the new Idol, who will also get a recording contract worth another N7.5 million. First Runner-up, Debbie Rise drove home in a brand new Kia Picanto, also courtesy Etisalat Nigeria.

Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu made me choose Nigeria –Moses

Chelsea forward Victor Moses has revealed how former internationals Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu talked him into choosing Nigeria over England, especially after he was overlooked by England coaches.
The former Crystal Palace sensation was named the Player of the Tournament at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa following his spectacular display as Nigeria won the African title for the third time.
Moses played for England from Under-16 to U-21 level and was tipped by former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan to be one of England ’s finest. But unfortunately, U-21 boss Stuart Pearce and former England manager Fabio Capello had little or no interest in Moses.

AFCON fallout: Chelsea drop Moses

English club Chelsea have dropped their Nigeria international Victor Moses from the squad to face Sparta Prague in their Europa League tie on Thursday. The Nigeria international had been quickly recalled for the trip to the Czech Republic which forced him to travel back to England from South Africa instead of heading to Abuja with his teammates.
But Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has carefully avoided making the same mistake as Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, who played Efe Ambrose against Juventus two days after the Africa Cup of Nations final match against Burkina Faso in South Africa. Ambrose, who only arrived in Glasgow on match day, turned out a huge deficit to Celtic despite his sterling performance for Nigeria in South Africa. Lennon would admit on Wednesday that he took “a gamble” by fielding Ambrose.

Keshi hopeful about Moses, Emenike

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has played down the injury sustained by strikers Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike during the second half of the semi-final match against Mali in Durban on Wednesday. Moses was withdrawn early in the half for Ahmed Musa and it was thought that he could have sustained a muscle strain which could keep him out of the Sunday final.
Emenike was also stretchered to the sideline after he appeared to have sustained a muscle cramp while attempting to score. But Keshi said he was hopeful that the duo would feature on Sunday.

AFCON 2013: 'Moses Begged Me To Allow Him Play Penalties, I Will Play Spot-Kicks In Future' – Mikel

John Mikel Obi has revealed that he was set to take the two penalty kicks, in the Super Eagles last Group C game against Ethiopia, but his Chelsea team mate Victor Moses, pleaded to allow him take them.  Obi had missed from the spot in the second game against Zambia, but Moses converted the two kicks to give Nigeria a much needed victory.
The midfielder however said he will not run away from taking spot-kicks in future.
