Award-winning singing duo, Peter and Paul Okoye famously known as P-Square are the highest paid hip-hop artistes right now, ENCOMIUM Weekly findings have revealed. The Okoyes are currently charging between N9 and N10 million for a show within Nigeria…..

Apart from information gathered from the source close to the duo, independent music promoters/artiste managers also confirmed this, declaring the Koko master, D’Banj as the second highest paid artiste. The DB Record boss charges between N6 and N7 million as a standard show fee.

Mary J Blige has arrived Nigeria ahead of the ‘Sisters with Soul‘ concert holding in Lagos.The queen of ‘Hip-Hop Soul’ touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos this afternoon, September 27, 2013 and has been taken to the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island where she will be staying. The concert will hold at the Expo Hall.  ‘Lagos, Nigeria! I’m on my way! I look forward to seeing you on Friday!!‘, she tweeted last night.  The ‘Sisters with Soul’ concert features Mary J as the lead act with supporting performances from Seyi Shey, Zaina, Chidinma, Niyola, Lola Rae, Emma Nyra, Eva and DJ Cuppy.

The 10 Bankable artiste's list by Forbes has generated a lot of controversies, but Banky W managed to stay out of it. Though he was listed among the 10 Nigerian bankable artistes, Banky W said this to Nigerian Tribune when he was asked about what he thinks about the list;

I don’t believe very much in such things. Let’s be honest, the real wealthy people are the businessmen like Dangote and the politicians (some of whom got there by looting Nigeria). They’re the ones with real money. This entertainment business is too much hype. It is more fame than fortune. So I’m not thrilled to it and I don’t think any of us should buy into it too much. I’d rather be wealthy and quiet than famous and broke.

Over 3000 models attend Music Meets Runway 2013 Model Casting

 

The 2013 model casting for the premier music and fashion show, Music Meets Runway (MMR), which held last Saturday 21st September, 2013, was a tremendous success with a huge turnout of over 3000 young aspiring female and male models as against last year’s 1000 models. The event was held in the Expo Hall at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. This is the latest in a series of campaigns lined up for the third edition of the Music Meets Runway, which has been tagged, ‘The Icons Edition’. What a way to start!
