It is no longer a thing of surprise to see fuji singers infusing some bit of hip-hop into their songs as they strive to appeal to the new generation of music lovers especially in the ever evolving Nigerian music industry. One person who is leading this revolution is ‘Bonsue Fuji’ crooner, Adewale Ayuba, who is set to mark his comeback to the secene with the remix of his popular track, Happy People – a popular tune from the early 90′s.To achieve the feat, Mr. Johnson, as he is fondly called, enlisted the lyrical prowess of The Headies ‘Lyricist on the Roll’ winner, Vector and TM9ja, an outstanding vocalist that was recently signed to Ayuba’s BA records.
Ayuba, whose style of music has won him many accolades including the prestigious KORA awards, stated that he had been working on remixing some of his old songs to meet up with the current trend in the industry today.
Speaking on his new work, Ayuba said the new single was a remake of a classic album that was released over two decades ago. Ayuba said he was trying to use his music to build the bridge between the young and old by collaborating with young but vibrant artistes who have distinguished themselves.
Produced by prolific beat maker, Oga Ojo, Ayuba stated further that his plan to work with some of the successful hip hop acts in the industry was hinged on his vision to keep his brand relevant and vibrant. “I am currently doing a couple of collaboration with some of the hip hop guys, because I am impressed with the level of their achievement” he said.
Ayuba, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BA records, said he was planning to drop his latest album, ‘Camel Lion’ soon. The album, according to Ayuba, features the likes of Banky W, TM9ja and Sound Sultan. He also confirmed that the video shoot for Happy People had started.
