Golden Eaglets run over nine-man Congo

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets ran over nine-man Congo 7-0 at the ongoing African Under-17 Championship inside the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Saturday.
Inside the first hour, Nigeria wrapped up the game scoring six - averaging a goal every 10 minutes.
The striking pair of Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho proved a handful for the Congolese with the latter helping himself with a hat-trick.
Iheanacho put Nigeria one goal up on four minutes after smashing home from close range via Musa Yahaya's assist.

The tournament's leading scorer, Success, came close to making it two but the Congo keeper, Mpea Darnet Ombandza blocked his effort.
Just before the half hour mark, Success finished off Bernard Bulbwa's chip to give Nigeria's Golden Eaglets a two-goal lead.

Mikel ‘ll win golden ball – Orji Uzo Kalu

Creative midfield maestro, John Mikel Obi, yesterday earned five stars as the Abia State former governor Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, tipped him for the Golden Ball trophy, with the sobriquet ‘Field Marshall’ of the ongoing Nations Cup. Kalu said: “Mikel Obi is a silent killer, in the field he puts on no airs, his touches are pinpoint, the young man is the hub of the Eagles.
Yet, he carries everybody along. If the Nations Cup were another World War I would call him Field Marshall Montgomery. I see a crown on his head as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this tournament.” The ex-governor praised the Ivorian Elephants for giving honour to Mikel in particular, and the Nigerian team in general, despite their quarter-finals elimination by the Eagles. “Kudos to Cheik Tiote, Didier Drogba and Lassina Traore. They admitted Nigeria’s superiority in the game.Tiote singled out Mikel for cutting off balls to Drogba and Yaya Toure.
