Golden Eaglets run over nine-man Congo

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets ran over nine-man Congo 7-0 at the ongoing African Under-17 Championship inside the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Saturday.
Inside the first hour, Nigeria wrapped up the game scoring six - averaging a goal every 10 minutes.
The striking pair of Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho proved a handful for the Congolese with the latter helping himself with a hat-trick.
Iheanacho put Nigeria one goal up on four minutes after smashing home from close range via Musa Yahaya's assist.

The tournament's leading scorer, Success, came close to making it two but the Congo keeper, Mpea Darnet Ombandza blocked his effort.
Just before the half hour mark, Success finished off Bernard Bulbwa's chip to give Nigeria's Golden Eaglets a two-goal lead.

Sunday Mba Sad Over Nigeria’s Slide - FIFA Rankings

Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba has voiced his displeasure at the latest monthly rankings released by world football governing body, FIFA.
Nigeria dropped one place in the classification for March as their 757 ranking points saw the African champions slip to 31st in the world and fourth in Africa behind the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Mali.
Nigeria were previously ranked 30th after racking up 775 points but slipped a solitary place after a less-than-fruitful month following a 1-1 draw against Kenya in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying game in Calabar.
Mba, who impressed for the Super Eagles at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, however does not believe the draw against the Kenyans is enough to see Nigeria drop in the rankings.

Trouble over Nollywood at 20

Nollywood at 20 is supposed to be a moment of retrospection, celebration, and a showcase of achievements of the Nigerian motion picture industry in the last two decades. But with the development of things, the two-decade milestones might turn into legal combat and mudslinging, as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and Peace Ayam Osigwe set to hold two different events amidst exchange of vile correspondences.

Peace Ayam Osigwe had conceived an idea to celebrate Nollywood at 20 with a dinner, coffee table, symposium and the likes, long before Ibinabo Fiberesima emerged as the president of AGN. Peace, we learnt drafted Ibinabo into the planning committee so as to carry the AGN along. She had commissioned people to write the coffee book, conducted interviews and gotten the support of the Federal Government, and was in talks with several corporate organizations.

‘Ifreke Inyang – 'Nigeria can win the AFCON' – 6 things we learnt from today’s victory over Cote d’I

Nigeria can win the AFCON
Let me catch my breath. Was that the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Elephants? Did we utterly dominate the quarter-final clash or what? Every single player was up for the game. Less fancied names like Onazi Ogenyi, Sunday Mba, etc stood up tall and strong against true football superstars like Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba. Save for that little blip defensively, that led to Tiote levelling scores, the Eagles were almost perfect. Long may it continue. And who knows? With this kind of form, we fear no foe!
