22- year- old Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier is one player whose progress has pleased Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

“Ronaldo Unlucky To Be Born In The Same Era With Messi” – Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is ‘from a different planet’ as he assesses his sublime talents, but does not believe he was a worthy winner of the 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year prize.
Wenger felt the full force of Messi’s genius when the Barcelona maestro blasted four goals past Arsenal in a Champions League quarter-final back in 2010, but he is convinced there were more worthy winners of the prize in a year when Barcelona failed to live up to their own extraordinary standards.

Wenger to buy ‘exceptional player’ in January

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he will only spend in the January transfer window for an “exceptional player” to boost his squad. Wenger has money to spend and was expected to bring in a few new faces after a poor run of form last month. However, the Gunners have won their last three Premier League games to put themselves back in the top four and Wenger has hinted he will not spend big in the New Year unless a top talent becomes available. “We are in the market, but only if we find players who will really strengthen us because we have a good squad. But if we find an exceptional player then we will take him,” Wenger told the Daily Mirror.“We lacked fluidity in our attacks against Wigan and continuity in our attacking play but we won because of our will to win. And, with the way things are now, I won’t turn my nose up at that.”

Wenger: We’ll Buy Messi In January

Despite the intense criticism he has faced this season – which by the way he is familiar with and speculation of a rift between him and his assistant, Steve Bould, Arsene Wenger has stoically backed his current crop of players insisting he actually won more trophies with a group of players who were not as focused as his current squad at the Emirates. The 62-year old Frenchman told a news conference on Friday, “I have had groups who had fantastic results who were less serious than these players, believe me. We won trophies with players who were less focused than this team.
