See Messi's comment on Ronaldo winning the Ballon d’Or

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, has congratulated rival Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Real Madrid star beat him to the 2013 Ballon d’Or prize on Monday.  Messi, who has won the award four times in a row, came second behind the Portuguese, while Franck Ribery ended up in third. Although Messi also had a remarkable year, it was not enough to topple Ronaldo, who he described as a just winner.

While other football players are playboys, date models, and appear in underwear ads, too, no one's lifestyle gets under the skin of fans like Christiano Ronaldo's, 28.

He earned $42.5 million last year, making him the  ninth highest-paid athlete on earth.
He just signed a contract that'll pay him $23 million per year until 2018 — making him the world's highest-paid player.

Real Madrid star Ronaldo Renews Contract

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has renewed his contract with the club, which had been due to expire in 2015, the Spanish giants confirmed on Sunday.
The Portuguese international will attend a ceremony at 1:45 pm (1145 GMT) with Real president Florentino Perez at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium to mark the renewal of his deal, the club said on its website.
The 28-year-old’s record since joining Madrid from Manchester United for a then world record 94 million euros back in 2009 has been phenomenal with the Portuguese scoring 203 times in 203 appearances.

Manchester United Fans Contribute Money To Buy Back Ronaldo

After a weekend of goodbyes to iconic figures Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Scholes, Manchester United fans might be saying hello again to Cristiano Ronaldo - if they themselves can find the money.
A small band of Australian-based United supporters have created a website where fans can help raise funds to bring back their old favourite, who has a £100million buyout clause, from Real Madrid.
The 'BringRonaldoHome' movement has already received thousands of pledges to buy a United shirt with Ronaldo on it - however it needs 10 million to donate a tenner for this target to be reached.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is ‘from a different planet’ as he assesses his sublime talents, but does not believe he was a worthy winner of the 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year prize.
Wenger felt the full force of Messi’s genius when the Barcelona maestro blasted four goals past Arsenal in a Champions League quarter-final back in 2010, but he is convinced there were more worthy winners of the prize in a year when Barcelona failed to live up to their own extraordinary standards.

One of the world’s richest clubs Paris Saint Germain is contemplating easing Cristiano Ronaldo’s alleged ‘sad’ time at the Bernabeu. However, PSG would undoubtedly need to break the Portuguese international’s world-record transfer of €98m from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009 if they are to succeed.

“Showing too much humility is a flaw, even God cannot please everyone” – Ronaldo


Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that it is almost impossible to please everyone, as even God cannot satisy us all. The Portuguese forward has sometimes been made target of hostile receptions from fans of opposing teams, but he has insisted he is not going to change, as he has no problems with his personality. “Not even God can please everyone. I always try to be a good person who the majority of people like. But showing too much humility is a flaw. People either hate me or love me,” the attacker told Globo. “I always try and work hard in order to be the best at what I do. In my opinion, everybody should have the objective to be the best at what they do, regardless of his or her profession.”
