Mba Ready To Debut For Rangers In The CAF Champions League.

Sunday Mba could well be cleared by Rangers in time for the AFCON 2013 hero to have the chance of debuting for the Enugu club in the CAF Champions League against Angola’s Recreativo do Libolo.
Rangers host Recreativo on Sunday in a second round clash that will qualify the winner to feature in the group stage of the competition.

According to information gathered on MTNFootball.com, Mba, goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, as well as Emmanuel Daniel from Shooting Stars have been retained in the training camp ahead of Sunday’s match pending a resolution with their respective clubs on their transfer.

Yobe Desert Rollers ready for Africa Hockey Championship

Damaturu – Alhaji Sani Fema, Chairman, Yobe Sports Commission, has assured Nigerians that the Yobe Desert Rollers hockey team was prepared to win the forthcoming African Men Hockey Club Championship in Zimbabwe.

Fema gave the assurance on Saturday in Damaturu in an interview on the team’s readiness for the championship which will hold in December in Harare, Zimbabwe.

“The team has trained vigorously and acquired more technical knowledge to improve on its third-place position of last year and go on to win the main trophy this year.

“The coaches have evolved new skills and the players have worked hard at the training camp to ensure a successful outing in Harare,’’ he said.

Fema commended the state government for providing the team with the required training facilities and logistics which had kept the team in good shape and high spirits for the competition.

“The team is fully prepared to do Nigeria proud at the championship which commences on Dec. 1.(NAN)

Ferguson believes United ready to pile pressure on Chelsea

NEWCASTLE, United Kingdom (AFP) – Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United are ready to pile the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea after sweeping to a 3-0 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Early goals from defenders Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra plus a stunning late strike from England midfielder Tom Cleverley were enough to secure a deserved victory for Ferguson’s side on Sunday.
It means United climb above defending champions Manchester City on goal difference, four points behind leaders Chelsea as the Premier League goes into the international break.
