Victor Moses to sign from Chelsea on season-long loan

Liverpool will complete the formalities of a season-long loan deal for Chelsea's Victor Moses before the transfer window closes. The 23-year-old has slipped even further down the pecking order at the Blues after the summer signings of Willian and Andre Schurrle.

Liverpool will pay the Stamford Bridge club a loan fee, understood to be around £1m, as part of the deal for the former Crystal Palace and Wigan attacker. Moses, who was at Anfield watching Liverpool play Manchester United on Sunday, signed for Chelsea from Wigan for a fee reported to be around £9m in August 2012.

Chelsea 2-0 Hull City Tigers: Chelsea got its season off to a winning start against Hull City.

Oscar and Frank Lampard scored to ensure a happy return to Stamford Bridge for Jose Mourinho as Chelsea got its season off to a winning start against Hull City.
Lampard saw a penalty saved by debutant Allan McGregor on six minutes, but the Brazilian playmaker broke the deadlock seven minutes later after a fine pass from Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea's all-time top scorer then atoned for his earlier miss by rifling a stunning 30-yard free kick into the top corner and, though Hull rallied after the break, the visiting side never seriously threatened a comeback.

The 27-year-old missed the Community Shield with a shoulder problem according to Manchester United, but Hodgson said there are no signs of it any more.
Hodgson said: 'It’s difficult to know with the naked eye how match-fit people are but there was no doubt he was not suffering any physical injury.

Mikel Obi set to leave Chelsea for Galatasaray

Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi is placed to proceed to Galatasaray from Chelsea. Mikel told Sabah, a daily Turkish newspaper that the Turkey football club made a present that he's extremely pleased with and is looking towards life in Istanbul.
'I asked Drogba for advice and he explained that Istanbul is just a fantastic city, that Galatasaray is just a huge club and that I have to make the move. I have played at Chelsea for quite a while and it's now time for me to leave.
'I'm still only 26 and it's great to get a present from a team (Galatasaray) playing Champions League football and successful in the competition.'
Talks reach an enhanced level between Chelsea and Galatasaray. Chelsea won't make the move difficult and regarding my salary there won't be described as a problem. All that's left is for the clubs to reach an agreement.'
Mikel leaving Chelsea for Galatasaray is not a good idea, can it be?

Mourinho Gives Greenlight: Omeruo To Return To Chelsea

Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has moved closer to rejoining Chelsea, with latest reports claiming new manager Jose Mourinho, has approved the player’s return from a loan spell at Dutch Eredivise club ADO Den Haag.
According to a representative of Omeruo, the player’s return to the London club is almost complete, although the final details will be sorted after his campaign at the FIFA Confederation Cup holding in Brazil from June 17 to 30.
The fast-rising defender is currently in the Eagles’ camp in Windhoek preparing for a crucial World Cup 2014 qualifier with Namibia on Wednesday.  “It is now 95 per cent certain that Kenneth will team up with Chelsea for the coming season,” the player’s representative said yesterday. “Mourinho has said he wants to work with Kenneth after watching him at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa where he held his own against top players like Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire.

Chelsea Win Europa League With Dying Minute Goal

Chelsea have won the Uefa Europa League final against Benfica with an injury-time goal.
Branislav Ivanovic scored in the 93rd minute to secure the 2-1 victory against the Portuguese side in the Amsterdam Arena.
Spanish striker Fernando Torres had previously given the London team the lead, before Oscar Cardozo equalised from a penalty.
The win represents a triumph for interim Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez, who has faced concerted hostility from the club’s fans since his appointment in November.
Benitez will be leaving on a high note after securing Champions league spot for the Blues and winning a second European title in as many years for Chelsea. He is set to leave at the end of the season, and his widely expected replacement is former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho.

Rooney’s Chelsea Switch Becomes A Possibility With Bayern Out Of The Frame.

Mourinho have been touted to be Rafael Benitez’s replacement and there have been claims that the Real Madrid manager is lining up a £25 million pound move for Wayne Rooney as he wish for a physical presence up front, and believe that Rooney can fit the bill.
Rooney A True Blue?
Bayern Munich were supposed to be battling it out with Chelsea and Paris St Germain (PSG) after revelations about Rooney’s growing frustration with the role he has had to play at United, and anger at having his fitness questioned, had had him make a verbal request to leave.

Chelsea players make fun of Benitez

Rafael Benitez again dominates the back pages of the newspapers as his funeral match as Chelsea boss drones on.
The most interesting piece comes from the Daily Mail where Neil Ashton, who is known to have strong contacts within the club, lifts the lid on what went down during Chelsea’s training on Thursday – the morning after Rafa’s rant at Middlesbrough.
According to Ashton “Benitez acted as though nothing had happened” during a short training session with the players at Cobham.
“As the players waited in the changing room to go out for a short, sharp warm-down, they poked fun at Benitez while watching repeats of his meltdown on Sky News.”

AFCON fallout: Chelsea drop Moses

English club Chelsea have dropped their Nigeria international Victor Moses from the squad to face Sparta Prague in their Europa League tie on Thursday. The Nigeria international had been quickly recalled for the trip to the Czech Republic which forced him to travel back to England from South Africa instead of heading to Abuja with his teammates.
But Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has carefully avoided making the same mistake as Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, who played Efe Ambrose against Juventus two days after the Africa Cup of Nations final match against Burkina Faso in South Africa. Ambrose, who only arrived in Glasgow on match day, turned out a huge deficit to Celtic despite his sterling performance for Nigeria in South Africa. Lennon would admit on Wednesday that he took “a gamble” by fielding Ambrose.

Benitez's Temporary Chelsea Reign Drags On Towards its Doomed End

The Blues were fortunate to be in the hat for the fifth round draw, bailed out by an increasingly rare example of Fernando Torres coming up trumps when it mattered against Brentford, who had twice taken the lead against the more illustrious west London club at Griffin Park.

Whatever Roman Abramovich's opinion of Benitez, it is inconceivable that the Spaniard may continue beyond the current campaign and the Chelsea players know it. When Sir Alex Ferguson declared his intention to retire at the end of the 2001-02 season, Manchester United ended up finishing in third place in the Premier League - they have never finished lower in the new top flight.

The transfer fee is understood to be in the region of £12m. Sturridge told Liverpool’s website: “I am humbled and happy to be here. Ferguson believes United ready to pile pressure on Chelsea

NEWCASTLE, United Kingdom (AFP) – Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United are ready to pile the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea after sweeping to a 3-0 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
Early goals from defenders Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra plus a stunning late strike from England midfielder Tom Cleverley were enough to secure a deserved victory for Ferguson’s side on Sunday.
It means United climb above defending champions Manchester City on goal difference, four points behind leaders Chelsea as the Premier League goes into the international break.
