Mourinho Gives Greenlight: Omeruo To Return To Chelsea

Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has moved closer to rejoining Chelsea, with latest reports claiming new manager Jose Mourinho, has approved the player’s return from a loan spell at Dutch Eredivise club ADO Den Haag.
According to a representative of Omeruo, the player’s return to the London club is almost complete, although the final details will be sorted after his campaign at the FIFA Confederation Cup holding in Brazil from June 17 to 30.
The fast-rising defender is currently in the Eagles’ camp in Windhoek preparing for a crucial World Cup 2014 qualifier with Namibia on Wednesday.  “It is now 95 per cent certain that Kenneth will team up with Chelsea for the coming season,” the player’s representative said yesterday. “Mourinho has said he wants to work with Kenneth after watching him at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa where he held his own against top players like Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire.

“It is therefore certain that he will not be heading back to Holland after the Confederation Cup.”
Interestingly, Omeruo’s inclusion in the Eagles’ 23-man squad to the intercontinental fiesta also boosted his chances at the Blues return, although the 19-yearold still has to worm his way to the heart of the impossible Portuguese gaffer whose latest reign at Real Madrid ended in controversy after his managerial skills caused untold unrest in the club’s dressing room which ultimately led to his departure despite having a season to go in his four-year contract.

Omeruo, who has played 26 matches and scored two goals at Den Haag, has been capped seven times for Nigeria senior team after featuring at the U-17 and U-20 levels previously.
