“We gave Mata permission to have a medical with United, it was a good offer” – Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at his Friday’s news conference, confirmed that Juan Mata is set to join Manchester United.  He said: “Things are going in a good direction. We allow Juan to travel and have the medical with United. Things are really going into a good direction. I think sooner rather than later things will be done.”  On why he decided to allow the Spaniard leave Stamford Bridge, he said: “I think this club is a special club and it cares for people. It is very respectful of its players and especially those who wrote history and Juan is one of these.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for him. Another big club wants him in the country he want to stay in, has made the right offer for him, so, although lots of clubs feel you should not sell to rivals, we are different.

Mourinho Gives Greenlight: Omeruo To Return To Chelsea

Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has moved closer to rejoining Chelsea, with latest reports claiming new manager Jose Mourinho, has approved the player’s return from a loan spell at Dutch Eredivise club ADO Den Haag.
According to a representative of Omeruo, the player’s return to the London club is almost complete, although the final details will be sorted after his campaign at the FIFA Confederation Cup holding in Brazil from June 17 to 30.
The fast-rising defender is currently in the Eagles’ camp in Windhoek preparing for a crucial World Cup 2014 qualifier with Namibia on Wednesday.  “It is now 95 per cent certain that Kenneth will team up with Chelsea for the coming season,” the player’s representative said yesterday. “Mourinho has said he wants to work with Kenneth after watching him at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa where he held his own against top players like Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire.

FIFA’s Coach Of The Year Award Was Fraud– Mourinho

Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho has revealed why he did not attend the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala – because he was forewarned by some of those who voted for him as coach of the year that their votes turned up for other candidates instead.  “Am I sorry for not having gone to the gala? No. It was the right decision,” Mourinho told RTP television on Tuesday in excerpts from an interview.  “One, two or three people called me saying they had voted for me but the vote showed up as cast for somebody else. So, I decided not to go,” he said.
Mourinho and former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola eventually lost out in that category to another worthy recipient – Spain’s Vicente del Bosque at January’s gala.
Mourinho, who is not known for mincing words, would have stirred debates that will cast a huge integrity question mark on the prestigious awards but FIFA is unfazed as the world football governing body said in a statement: “Fifa confirms that the list of votes published on Fifa.com is accurate.”

Mourinho Speaks: Man United Win Wasn't So Special.. I've Had Better

ONLY Jose Mourinho could look back on the last fortnight and claim it was nothing special.

A victory at Old Trafford and wins home and away against Barcelona — most managers dream of such a run.

But the Real Madrid boss just shrugged and smiled at the suggestion that it was a remarkable set of results.

It started with a stunning 3-1 triumph over arch-rivals Barcelona in the Nou Camp to reach the final of the Copa del Rey quickly followed by a 2-1 La Liga win over Barca back at the Bernabeu.
