Video: Miley Cyrus Spoofs MTV Video Music Awards on SNL

Miley Cyrus’ MTV Video Music Awards performance was spoofed in the cold opening of “Saturday Night Live” yesterday, which saw SNL actor Kenan Thompson living in the future and blaming Miley's controversial performance for the demise of civilization in a post-apocolyptic America set in 2045. In the sketch, 'Robin Thicke' and 'Will Smith' comment on her controversial performance, and she’s even presented with a 'Molly' doll.

The sketch has been labelled worst in recent history. The Las Vegas Guardian Express wrote:
'A well-placed source had reported that Miley would twerk, rip into Sinead O’Conner and possibly even 'cross boundaries' because of the late hour of the show. Some fans said she may end up costing the network money because she could perhaps treat the viewing audience to more nudity than we’ve seen already. Instead of pushing limits or crossing boundaries, she hosted the worst episode in recent SNL history.'

5 Nigerian Artiste Who Dumped Rap For Pop Music

According to Thenetng.com Not every pop star started out singing and composing smash hit singles. Some of the biggest pop stars in the game today started out as rappers. Let’s highlight the top pop stars who were once rappers… Let’s know if we missed out any names!
 1. eLDee- When the history of Nigerian Hip Hop is written, eLDee will undoubtedly have more than a few pages. Unknown to many of eLDee’s younger fans the former leader of the rap group Trybesmen not only laid the blueprint of the modern Nigerian rap sound but was the first to go the Alaba route. In his rap days, eLDee helped kick start the careers of some of today’s biggest rappers which include SashaBlaiseand 2 Shotz. He was no slouch on the mic either as he held his own with rhyme partners Freestyle andKaboom. But now, he has quit spitting bars; choosing instead to be a singer, with so many hits under his belt. Once in a while though he still lets the rapper in him come out.

I’ll never play music that supports same sex marriage – Bongos Ikwue

Music icon, Bongos Ikwue, shares his experiences with JOHN AMEH
How does it feel to be 70 years old?
I don’t feel any difference at all. I don’t know what it feels like to be 70 years old. When I turned 30, I didn’t know what it felt like. I am just living and doing my everyday thing and enjoying every bit of it.
At a point, you simply disappeared from the music scene. Why?
Well, I have not been living in any kind of hiding. I think people, or journalists, have not been reaching out enough. You are the one to go and find out what is happening. I shouldn’t go and knock on everybody’s door and say, ‘Hey, here I am; my name is Bongos’. It is up to you to find out about whom you want to find out and tell it to the people. I have been as busy as anybody can be. I don’t like to talk about myself.
How was growing up?
I attended primary school in Otukpo, Jos and Kaduna. I had my secondary school education in Zaria and my Higher School in Okene (Kogi State). Then I ended up in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. I think that sums it up completely. Growing up, I spent a little time in Otukpo with my parents, but moved to live with my brother, who was a policeman in Jos from 1953 to 1956. Most of my growing years were with my brother were at the police barracks in Jos. He listened to music a lot.

How does Nigerian music become very popular in Ghana?

How does Nigerian music become very popular in Ghana while Ghanaian music remains contraband commodity in the former’s country? This is a big question that requires serious necropsy by entertainment pundits. Give or show a Nigerian movie to the average Ghanaian in the 90’s and he or she will spurn it. At that time, Ghanaians loved Ghanaian movies to Nigerian movies. Starting the new millennium, Ghana was deluged with an influx of Nigerian movies. The table then turned; Ghanaians developed a strong predilection for Nigerian movies and ever since, have not looked back.
