₦10 million: Dennis Okike Wins 10th Gulder Ultimate Champion

 Dennis Okike has emerged the 10th Gulder Ultimate Champion. Dennis, during the seek out the 10th symbol, outsmarted his fellow finalists Edmund Umeabuani & Ifunanya Onike in Usaka River, Akwa-Ibom State where the ultimate battle went down.

Congrats: Obianuju Udeh, Dj Switch Wins (₦24 million) Glo X Factor

Obianuju Catherine Udeh aka Dj Switch is the winner of the first edition of Glo X Factor.

She was crowned the winner after the finale which held yesterday. Catherine won the $150,000 prize money (₦24m), an SUV and a recording contract with SONY music.

Nadal wins US Open

Rafael Nadal claimed his second US Open title and 13th Grand Slam crown on Monday when he defeated world number one Novak Djokovic, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a lung-busting, big-hitting final.

Nadal, 27, added the 2013 trophy to his 2010 triumph, when he completed a career Grand Slam, and capped a year which has now seen him capture 10 titles and stretch his season winning record to 60 victories and just three losses.

Monday's win also earned him a total of $3.6 million, which takes his career earnings through the $60 million mark and also edged him closer to Roger Federer's record of 17 majors.

Serena Williams wins her 5th US Open

World No.1 Serena Williams today Sunday September 8th claimed her fifth US Open crown and 17th career grand slam singles title after beating world No. 2 Victoria Azarenka with a 7-5 6-7(6) 6-1.  This victory makes Serena the oldest US Open women's winner since tennis turned professional 45 years ago, eclipsing Australian Margaret Court, who was 31 years when she won the title in 1973. Big congrats to Serena.

Nick Gilronan is the man with the Smallest joystick. The competition was held at the Kings County Bar in New York city. The contest was tagged and promoted as a “pageant for confident people with a sense of humour”. Winner Gilronan told reporters: “The size of a man’s joystick does not matter for who he is as a person or in a relationship, same thing with breast size”. “Probably the most fun I have with my joystick is that I’m a grower, not a shower, and when I’m with women I love seeing their reactions as it grows to double its flaccid size. They seem amazed by it.”

Usain Bolt won his third straight world title today Saturday August 17th after setting a world leading time of 19.66 seconds in the 200-meters event at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia. Usain will now go for his fourth triple gold at a major championship when he joins the Jamaican team for the 4x100 relay tomorrow Sunday August 18th. Congrats to him!

Blessing Okagbare wins silver medal at IAAF World Championships

Nigerian athlete Blessing Okagbare has won Nigeria's first medal at the ongoing IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia. Blessing won the silver medal in the long jump event final today Sunday August 11th after jumping an impressive 6.99m.  The last time Nigeria won a medal at the Athletic World Championship was in 1999.

The women’s single title at Wimbledon has gone to France’s Marion Bartoli who dealth Sabine Lisicki.with a crushing 6-1 6-4 defeat. World number one Serena Williams today Saturday June 8th won her 16th Grand Slam title and her second French Open title. She beat defending champion Maria Sharapova 6-4 6-4 at Rolland Garos.  Serena won her first French Open in 2002 against sister Venus Williams. Congrats to her!
