Jackie Appiah bags Best Female Actress At NAFCA

The actress was honor with the award for Best Female Actress in Leading role, beating Genevieve Nnaji, Beverly Naya, Iretiola Doyle, and Mbufung Seikeh in the just concluded Nollywood & African Films Critics Awards held in Washington DC which brought together stars from over the African continent to share and celebrate the success of the industry.

Confed Cup: Mikel's Amazing Goal Against Uruguay Nominated for the Tournament's Best (Video)

John Obi Mikel’s goal in Nigeria vs Uruguay match has been listed among the best goals of the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.

According to renowned Brazil’s TV channel, TV Sports, the Nigerian international joins the exclusive list of goal scorers that have left their mark at the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup in the South American nation, after the interesting team link up play exhibited by Mikel and Brown Ideye enroot to the goal.

Interestingly, Spain’s Jordi Alba’s opener against Nigeria on Sunday at the Estadio Castaelo, Fortaleza also made the list. BET Awards 2013: 2face & Ice Prince nominated for Best International Act: Africa

BET Awards just released their 2013 nominees list. 2face Idibia and Ice Prince were nominated in the Best International Act: Africa category. The two Nigerian music stars were nominated alongside R2bees from Ghana, Radio and Weasel from Uganda, Donald from South Africa, and Toya Delazy from South Africa. The award will hold 30th June. Mercy Johnson Wins Best Actress Award With Dumebi 'the Dirty Girl'

Nollywood very popular actress Mercy Johnson has again added to a profile a prestigious best actress award in the comedy category for her role in the hilarious comedy movie 'Dumebi the Dirty girl'. The new mother of a new born baby was not spotted on the red carpet of the 2013 African magic viewers choice award which took place on saturday at Eko hotel in lagos.  Veteran Actress Patience Uzokwor alias Mama G received the award for her.It seems Mercy Johnson hasn't returned to the country from the US.

Champions: 5 Super Eagles’ Players Make CAF Best XI List

Following their brilliant display at the just concluded African Cup of Nations in South where the Super Eagles of Nigeria lifted the coveted trophy for the first time since 1994, goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, defender Efe Ambrose, midfielder Mikel Obi and forwards Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike, have been named in CAF’s XI for the tournament.  Emenike, who didn’t play in the final match due to a hamstring injury, clinched the award of the tournament’s highest goal scorer with four goals.
